In the Canada Open Badminton tournament, India's PV Sindhu entered the quarterfinals after receiving a walkover in the second round last night. Two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu was set to face Natsuki Nidaira however the Japanese has withdrawn from the second round encounter.

Lakshya Sen will be up against Brazil’s Ygor Coelho, in the wee hours today. Sen defeated Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the first round.

In men's doubles category, V. G. Panjala and K. P. Garaga will be up against Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan of Indonesia.
