The verdict in Maria Sharapova's appeal against a two-year doping ban will be announced today. It will be announced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The five-time Grand Slam winner was banned by the International Tennis Federation after testing positive for meldonium, banned since 1st of January 2016, at this year's
Australian Open.
Sharapova, who said she had been taking the drug since 2006 for health problems, appealed against the ban, maintaining she had not tried to use a performance-enhancing substance. Sharapova's last official match was her quarter-final defeat to Serena Williams at the Australian Open in January this year.
