China Open Masters: Sumeeth-Sikki Reddy secures victory in Round-32 match

In the China Masters Badminton Tournament in Shenzhen, India’s mixed doubles duo B. Sumeeth Reddy and N. Sikki Reddy secured victory over the United States pair Presley Smith and Jennie Gai. The thrilling Round 32 match ended with scores of 23-21, 17-21, 21-17.

In women’s singles, Anupama Upadhyaya recorded a stunning three-game win over world number 15 Beiwen Zhang of the USA 21-17,



8-21, 22-20 in her first-round clash this evening. While Aakarshi Kashyap lost to Tomoka Miyazaki of Japan 10-21, 10-21 in her opening match.

In the men’s singles category, Priyanshu Rajawat fought valiantly but fell short against Indonesia’s Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Rajawat lost 24-22, 13-21, 18-21 in a closely contested encounter.
