3rd T20I: England beat India by 8 wickets, 2-1 series lead

Rishabh Pant was heard on the stump mic as the India wicketkeeper tried egging on the India bowlers whenever Jos Buttler was on strike. However, India did not manage to remove the explosive England opener who made light work of a 157-run target in the 3rd T20I and help the visitors take a 2-1 lead despite a batting masterclass from Virat Kohli in the 5-match series.

Jos Buttler made perfect use of the conditions during England's chase as the pattern of teams batting second winning the match continues in the T20I series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Buttler was at his brutal best, taking the attack to both India pacers and spinners alike on



Tuesday.

Buttler was dropped on 76 by captain Virat Kohli and the England opener ended up with his career-best 83 off 52 balls as England completed the chase in 18.2 overs. Despite losing Jason Roy (9) and Dawid Malan (18) early, an 77-run stand for the 3rd wicket between Buttler and Jonny Bairstow (40 not out off 25) sealed the deal for England.

Buttler's onslaught trumped Virat Kohli's masterful knock of 77 not out as India did not post enough on the board, managing just 156 for 6 in 20 overs after being sent into bat first. Buttler looked a cut above the rest of his England teammates on a sluggish pitch as he scored more than 50 percent of the required runs for England.
