In the third cricket test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, an early lunch has been taken due to conditions not improving at the Gabba, Brisbane. Earlier, the match was delayed due to rain and cloudy weather.
India were all out for 260 in the first innings in response to Australia’s 445 on day five of the Gabba Test. Resuming the day at 252 for nine, India added eight runs in 24 balls. Jasprit Bumrah with 10 not out off 38 and Akash Deep with 31 off 44, who helped India avoid the follow-on on day four, shared 47
runs off 78 balls for the final wicket. Australia gained a 185-run first-innings lead after Akash Deep was stumped off Travis Head in the 79th over.
On Day 4, India struggled at an overnight score of 51 for 4 when KL Rahul, with 84, and Ravindra Jadeja, with 77, provided resistance. Australia’s Pat Cummins took 4 wickets, including those of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, while Mitchell Starc claimed 3. Nathan Lyon dismissed KL Rahul early in the day.
