Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Monday that Afghanistan will tour the island nation for a three-match One-Day International series in November. The three ODIs will be played in Kandy between November 25 to 30.
The tour, which was initially scheduled to be played in February 2023, was shifted to the new schedule as the international cricket calendars of the two nations enabled the change. This will be the first bilateral trip from Afghanistan to Sri Lanka. Two times in the Asia Cup and twice in the World Cup, these two teams have already faced off in four one-day internationals (ODIs), with Sri Lanka holding a 3-1 head-to-head advantage.

"We are pleased with the outcomes of our discussions and negotiations with Sri Lanka Cricket on shifting the schedule to November this year. We are looking forward to playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, which is a heavy task but a challenge that I know our players will embrace," said Mirwais Ashraf, ACB Chairman.
