India moved to the second spot in ICC World Test Championship standings after Axar Patel took 5 for 60 to help the hosts beat England by 317 runs in the second Test and level the four-match series 1-1.
All-round India produced a stellar performance to register a massive 317-run victory on Day 4 of the 2nd Test match against England in Chennai and leveled the 4-match series 1-1 before heading to Ahmedabad for the final 2 Tests. Chasing a record victory target of 482, England were all out for 164 in their second innings with Moeen Ali their top scorer with a breezy 43.
India earned 30 points after the Chennai win and are currently second in
the World Test Championship points table behind New Zealand who are already in the final set to be played at the Lord’s in June this year. Notably, India (460 points and 69.7 % PCT) are ahead of England (442 points and 67 % PCT) on the percentage of points won by them out of the total number of points contested.
