India bowling all-rounder Axar Patel has been named among three shortlisted players for the ICC Men's Player of the Month award for September.
The 28-year-old stood out during the T20I series between India and Australia with his wicket-taking ability. Axar was India's pick of the bowlers, having returned with the figures of 3/17 in the first match in Mohali, where Australia chased down an imposing target of 209 runs.
In the rain-truncated second match in Nagpur, Axar gave only 13
runs in his two overs and dismissed Glenn Maxwell and Tim David. And in the third match in Hyderabad, Axar broke two partnerships. The Indian finished the series with eight wickets.
Axar continued his brilliance in the T20I series against South Africa as he gave only 16 runs in the four overs in the first match in Thiruvananthapuram.
Along with Axar, Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan and Australia's Cameron Green have been nominated for the ICC Men's Player of the Month award for September.
