Bangladesh have left out veteran fast bowler Jahanara Alam and Fargana Hoque Pinky as they named a 16-member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20I series against India.

Earlier, Jahanara also didn’t find a place in the WODI squad along with Rumana Ahmed, who is not a part of the T20I squad as well. Jahanara, the fourth-highest wicket-taker for the Tigresses in T20Is, played three matches in Sri Lanka before being dropped.

Pinky features in the ODI squad, but she is among the standbys for the T20Is along with Lata Mondal, Sharmin Akter Supta and Fariha Trisna.

Bangladesh, in the meantime, have called back veteran spinner and former skipper, Salma Khatun after she was rested for the Sri Lanka series.

Dilara Akter and Marufa Akter, who played in the U19 T20 World Cup earlier this year, also made a

comeback to the national squad.

India’s tour of Bangladesh will start with the three T20Is on July 9, 11 and 13. All the three matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The Indian team is scheduled to reach Bangladesh on Thursday, June 6. The ODI series will be played from July 16 to July 22 in Dhaka itself. Wicketkeeper-batter Nigar Sultana Joty will lead Bangladesh in both series.
