Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the Indian representative among the cricketers nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. The seasoned pacer made a comeback, after an injury had sidelined him for several months, in the white-ball leg of the home series against England last month.
The ICC, on Thursday (April 8), announced the nominees from Men’s and Women’s cricket that were handpicked based on their performances in the month of March. In the Men’s category, Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, Zimbabwe's Sean Williams were also nominated for their performance in Abu
Dhabi.
ICC Women’s Player of the Month nominees are India’s Rajeshwari Gayakwad, South Africa's Lizelle Lee and India's Punam Raut.
Bhuvneshwar played three ODIs against England where he took 6 wickets with an economy rate of 4.65. He also went on to play five T20Is against them where he took 4 wickets with a fantastic economy rate of 6.38.
He was the standout bowler on either side in the white ball series between India and England. Rashid took 11 wickets as his team won the second Test against Zimbabwe and followed up with six wickets in a 3-0 T20I victory for his side.
