Rohit Sharma was in spectacular form in India’s opening Test against Australia at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. After the Aussies were bowled out for 177 in their first innings, skipper Rohit Sharma came out all guns blazing and made sure that India trailed by only 100 runs at Stumps on Day 1 with nine wickets left.
On Day 2, Rohit looked at his very best and got to his hundred off 171 balls. He ended up scoring 120 runs off 212 balls with the help of 15 fours and two sixes. On the back of his knock, India
took a massive lead of 144 runs in their first innings by the end of the second day’s play.
It needed something special to dismiss Rohit, who was looking ominous, and Cummins produced that. Cummins beat the batter all ends up and rattled Rohit’s woodwork. The off-stump was uprooted off the ground as the Aussie skipper made good use of the new ball.
Rohit, in the meantime, made a few records and entered a few unique lists of batters after he lit up the VCA Stadium with his stupendous display of stroke-play.
