Australia's Paul Reiffel and England's Richard Illingworth will serve as the on-field umpires, while Sri Lanka's Ranjan Madugalle will be the match referee for the Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand on Sunday, March 9.
India and New Zealand will take field in the summit clash as the best teams in the tournament. While India beat Australia in the semi-final in a low-scoring thriller, New Zealand thrashed South Africa by 50 runs in the second semi final of the tournament.
The match will be a repeat clash from the earlier Group A game in the tournament. In the group-stage, India beat New Zealand with a terrific spin-choke, executed by Varun Chakravarthy, who was playing his first match in the tournament.
Reiffel, 58, a former Australian fast bowler with over 200 Test and ODI wickets, previously officiated as an on-field umpire
during South Africa's semifinal against New Zealand in Lahore.
Illingworth, 61, a former England left-arm spinner, was also part of the officiating team during India's semifinal clash against Australia in Dubai.
The four-time ICC Umpire of the Year, Illingworth also stood in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Americas. He was the umpire in the group-stage match between India and New Zealand, which India won by 44 runs.
