Dubai: In first game of the second leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs at Dubai International Stadium last night. After winning the toss, Chennai posted 156 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs riding on Ruturaj Gaikwad's unbeaten 88 off 58, Ravindra Jadeja's 26 off 33 and Dwayne Bravo's 23 off eight balls. For Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah and Adam Milne scalped two wickets each.
In reply, Mumbai could only score 136 for eight in their 20 overs with the help of Saurabh Tiwary's not out 50 off 40 balls. For
Chennai, Dwayne Bravo picked up three wickets and Deepak Chahar took two while Shardul Thakur and Josh Hazlewood scalped one wicket apiece.
MS Dhoni returned as captain for Chennai while Kieron Pollard is leading Mumbai in Rohit Sharma's absence.
Earlier in April-May this year, the first leg of IPL was suspended mid-way after the outbreak of second wave of COVID-19.
Today, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi at 7:30 pm Indian time.
