South African skipper Faf du Plessis powered Chennai Super Kings to their seventh IPL final when they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 2 wickets at Mumbai last night. Opting to bowl, Chennai first restricted Hyderabad to 139 for 7, with West Indian pacer Dwayne Bravo bagging the maximum of 2 wickets.
In reply, Hyderabad produced a superb bowling performance, but Chennai overhauled the target with 5 balls to spare and 2 wickets in hand, thanks to Du Plessis' excellent innings of an
unbeaten 67 off just 42 balls. He was adjudged man of the match.
Chennai, the two-time champions, have now entered the title clash which will be played on Sunday. Hyderabad can still make it to the Final. In the second Qualifier, they will have to beat the winner of today's Eliminator between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals which will be held in Kolkata at 7 PM.
