Chennai Super Kings registered a victory at their home ground, MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai on Monday as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants in their second game at the IPL 2023. Coming to bat first, CSK registered a target of 218 runs. On the other hand, LSG managed to score 205/7 in 20 overs. The high-voltage ended with MS Dhoni-led CSK winning by 12 runs. Interestingly, this was CSK's first win against LSG in the IPL. Before this, both teams locked horns in the previous edition of the tournament, when LSG had won.

Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway stitched an amazing partnership for Chennai Super Kings. Gaikwad scored 57 and Conway scored 47. On the other hand, Shivam Dubey contributed 27 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Mahendra Singh Dhoni batted brilliantly in the last over. Rayudu scored 27 runs and Dhoni smashed back-to-back sixes and added 12 runs. Mark Wood and Ravi Bishnoi took 3 wickets each for LSG and Avesh Khan got 1 wicket.
