Delhi Capitals captain David Warner was thrilled as he revealed on Friday, April 21 that the stolen bats and kit bags were recovered and handed back to the team. Several bats and items from the kit bag, including shoes, gloves and pads, were stolen during transit as the team was returning to Delhi ahead of their 6th game of the season against Punjab Kings on Sunday.

The Delhi Capitals players got to know that their bats and items in the kit were stolen after their arrival in Delhi. As many as 16 bats, according to reports, went missing, leaving the players and the support staff shocked.

Two bats from captain David Warner, two from Mitchell Marsh, three from Phil Salt, and five from Yash Dhull were among the ones that went missing. Notably,Delhi Capitals had hired a private logistical company to deliver their kit bags at the team hotels after they travel from one venue to other.

share a photo of the bats that were found. The Delhi Capitals captain confirmed that a few of them were still not found.

Notably, the Delhi Capitals team management filed a police complaint and informed the airport authorities about the missing bats on Sunday. Delhi had a 4-day break between their April 15 game in Bengaluru and their home game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Delhi Capitals made sure they put the incident behind them and focused on the job in hand against Kolkata Knight Riders to win their first match of the IPL 2023 season after 5 successive defeats, on Thursday, April 20. Delhi opened their account in the points table, successfully chasing down 128 in a low-scoring thriller.

David Warner led from the front with a fifty after Ishant Sharma led a disciplined bowling attack for the Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals will next face SunRisers Hyderabad on Monday, April 24 in Hyderabad.
