Mitchell Marsh is not a part of Australia’s playing XI for the second T20I against England on Friday at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. In his place, Travis Head, who won the Player of the Match award in Southampton, will lead. During the toss, Head said that Marsh was “slightly unwell”. In Marsh’s place, the visitors gave a chance to the young Jake Fraser-McGurk.
Australia had to make another forced change after fast bowler Xavier Bartlett was ruled out of the series due to a side strain that he had at the Rose Bowl. While Aaron Hardie has replaced him in the playing XI, Ben Dwarshuis is his replacement in the squad and will join the team before the third T20I.
"Overnight scans revealed Bartlett sustained a side strain while bowling in the first game. He has been ruled out for
the remaining two matches. Ben Dwarshuis will join the squad for the final T20 match in Manchester," Cricket Australia statement added.
Australia also brought in Cooper Connolly in place of Josh Hazlewood. The Aussies are currently leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the series opener by 28 runs.
England, in the meantime, gave a chance to Brydon Carse in place of Jofra Archer.
