ENG vs IND : With an incredible ninth-wicket combination, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah resurrected India in the Lord’s Test match.
On Day 5, it appeared that England would limit India’s lead to around 200 runs after dismissing Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma in the first phase of play.
However, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah put on an unbeaten 77-run partnership for the ninth wicket to help India reach 286/8 at lunch.
Bumrah is undefeated on 30* as Shami achieved his second Test half-century.
After the first session on Day 5, India’s lead had grown to 259 runs thanks to Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah’s combination.
If the two Indian players can keep going like this for a few more overs, they will also have a 300-run lead.
Virat Kohli, England’s captain, have declare the innings soon since chasing 300 in fewer than two sessions will be difficult.
Meanwhile, on Twitter,
cricket fans praised Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah for their outstanding ninth-wicket collaboration.
Some fans linked this pair to VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid‘s 2001 Eden Gardens partnership against Australia.
