Former India captain Kapil Dev on Wednesday became the third cricketer in the country to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Fortis Hospital in New Delhi.
Kapil Dev is the third Indian cricketer after Ravi Shastri and Madan Lal to get the dose in the second phase which has now expanded
its vaccination drive to include everyone over 60 and those aged between 45-59 who have specific co-morbidities.
Kapil Dev played 131 Tests and 225 one-day internationals for India from 1978 to 1994. He took 434 wickets in red-ball cricket at an average of 29.64 and 253 in the 50-over format at 27.45.
