Australia white-ball captain Aaron Finch decided to call time on his ODI career after the commencement of the Chappell-Hadlee trophy. Finch, one of the most destructive batsmen in his prime, decided to step away from one of the formats after a string of poor scores. Speaking after clean sweeping New Zealand in the series, Finch said that he is glad that he would not
have to field for 50 overs anymore. In a short farewell speech, he thanked his parents and his wife for making sacrifices so that he could achieve what he had dreamt of as a child.
"Pretty good, glad I don't want to field 50 overs anymore. My family has sacrificed so much for me to achieve all that I have, always grateful for that," the batter said.
