India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been nominated for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for September.
Harmanpreet led India to a historic 3-0 clean sweep over England in the ODI series. The victory marked India's first series win in England since 1999. Harmanpreet also had a memorable month as a batter as she finished the series as the highest run-scorer with 221 runs at an average of 221 and a strike rate of 103.27.
Harmanpreet scored 74 not out in the first ODI, guiding India to take an early lead in the series. She continued her brilliance and hit a hundred in the second match.
She went on to register her second-highest score in ODI with 143 not out.
Harmanpreet's deputy Smriti Mandhana, too, has been shortlisted for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for September. Mandhana finished behind Harmanpreet as the second highest run-scorer with 181 runs, including two scores of 50-plus, against England.
Along with India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana has been nominated for the ICC award. Under her captaincy, Bangladesh were crowned as champions of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 in the UAE.
