The IPL final is one of the most spectacular sporting spectacles in the world. Apart from the two best teams of the edition facing each other for the trophy, the spectacle is attended by the who's who of India. Right from ex-cricketers, board presidents from across the globe , actors, and politicians, the IPL final presents a host of well known faces. However, one man who was absent in spite of being invited twice (in 2021 and 2022) is Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz
Raja.
The 1992 World Cup winner recently revealed that he was invited by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly himself, but he declined the invite fearing fan backlash. "On two different occasions, he invited me to IPL; once in Dubai and once this year. I was confused about whether or not to attend. I thought if I went there, fans will not spare me. There might be a cricketing sense to it, yes, but right now, there are some cracks that need to be filled because it’s a political game," said Ramiz Raja at a press conference.
