The International Cricket Council (ICC) will have another round of meeting tomorrow and in all likelihood, a decision on the postponement of this year's T20 World Cup will be taken.
In the last three meetings, the ICC has not been able to arrive at a conclusive decision on T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in October-November in Australia.
Cricket Australia has already made it clear that staging the T20 World Cup this year is 'unrealistic' but despite their reluctance the ICC has not been able to take a final call.
"While the revised dates of the T20 World Cup will not be announced, the decision on T20 World Cup, in all
probability, will be taken. That decision should be the postponement of the tournament," well-placed sources told India Today.
Cricket Australia is also keen that the hosting rights of next year's T20 World Cup be handed to them but BCCI is unlikely to oblige. India is scheduled to host next year's T20 World Cup and it is unlikely that it will change.
An official word on postponement of the T20 World Cup will allow BCCI a window to plan for the IPL, which continues to remain suspended.
However, all that will depend on various approvals from the government and also how much the situation improves as far as Coronavirus is concerned.
