ICC Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav becomes world’s No.1 T20I batter

Ross Taylor has expressed his admiration for India's Suryakumar Yadav after he became the new No.1 batter in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Yadav finally dethroned Pakistan's Mohammed Rizwan in the rankings on Wednesday to round off a fine 2022 for the 32-year-old. The India batter currently leads the list for most runs in the calendar year with 965 runs to his



name and is in fine form in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia.

The 32-year-old has scored two fifties already in the tournament.

Speaking to the ICC's official website, Taylor revealed his admiration for Yadav, saying that to be ranked No.1 after batting behind the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul is an amazing effort.
