This time Eden Gardens will host five matches of the World Cup. One of the matches is between India and South Africa. Along with that, there will be a semi-final at Eden Gardens. The matches of Bangladesh and Pakistan will also be held in Kolkata. Before that, the ICC representatives will visit the iconic venue in Kolkata. The first match of the World Cup in Kolkata is on October 28. Bangladesh has a match on that day. India's match is on November 5.
Eden is also
ready to present all the arrangements before the ICC representatives. Eden got the best ground award in the IPL this year. They are now preparing to provide the best service in the World Cup as well. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has already made a new hospitality box. The clubhouse is being revamped to make it more attractive.
Apart from the five matches, Eden may get another high-voltage match between India and Pakistan if both the teams qualify for the semis.
On the same, CAB president, Snehasis Ganguly said to India Today, "We are prepared for every challenge. And if an India vs Pakistan match will be there, then it would be good for us. Nothing more exciting than that. We are ready. ICC is coming to inspect us, more work is in progress. We also had talked with the police. They are also ready to give security every time. We are very confident."
