In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket, the West Indies defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE last night. After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 103/8 in 20 overs. Skipper Nigar Sultana was the standout performer for Bangladesh, scoring 39 runs off 44 balls. While Karishma Ramharack took four wickets for the West Indies. In response, the West Indies chased down the target of 104 with 43 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand.

Taylor laid the foundation with a strong opening partnership of 52 runs in just 7.3 overs. Matthews scored 34 runs from just 22 balls, while Taylor made 27 runs in 29 balls. Ramharack was adjudged the player of the match. This victory also brought the West Indies a step closer to qualifying for the semifinals.
Today, defending champions Australia Women will take on Pakistan Women in the Group A match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The match will start at 7.30 PM IST.
