India will take on defending champions England in their first of the two official warmup matches ahead of the 2023 World Cup before facing the Netherlands in their second warm-up match on October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the official warm-up fixtures on Wednesday, August 23 with each team getting to play 2 matches before the tournament gets underway on October 5.
All the matches will get underway at 2 pm IST and the teams will be allowed to field all the 15 members in their squads.
India's campaign in the tournament commences on October 8th, 2023, with a match against five-time World Cup winners Australia. This highly anticipated match will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Following this, the much-awaited India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th, in Ahmedabad. This encounter is expected to be a high-scoring affair, reminiscent of their last face-off in the 2019 World Cup where India secured a significant victory.
India will play a 3-match ODI
series against Australia which ends on September 27 and they will 2 days before the first warm-up match.
