England on Thursday announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20 international series against India.
The team will be led by Eoin Morgan and will have the likes of all-rounder Ben Stokes, wicket-keeper batsmen Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow and top order batsman Dawid Malan.
But the most obvious omission was that of England Test skipper Joe Root, who recently hit a double hundred against India in the first Test in Chennai.
"The touring party depart on Friday 26 February and will play five T20 internationals in Ahmedabad," ECB informed on its
website.
Leading the pace attack will be Jofra Archer, who will be assisted by Sam Curran, Tom Curran and Mark Wood. Adil Rashid is the specialist spinner while Moeen Ali has also been named.
