Rohit Sharma scripted a new India record on Sunday, October 2 as he became the first player from the country to feature in 400 T20 matches. Rohit achieved the milestone when he walked out for the toss for the 2nd T20I against South Africa in Guwahati.
Rohit Sharma already holds the record for the most number of Twenty20 internationals played in men's cricket. The India captain has played 140 matches, 16 more than nearest-rival Shoaib Malik of Pakistan.
Only Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are the Indian cricketers to have played more than 350 matches in T20s.
Rohit Sharma has been one of
the finest players in the shortest format of the game. The India captain has played 227 matches in the Indian Premier League, scoring in excess of 5800 runs. Rohit has won as many as 5 titles as captain of Mumbai Indians, which is a record in the IPL.
Rohit will lead India in a World Cup for the first time as the star batter will bid to help India end their wait for an ICC title since 2013 at the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November.
