IND-W vs WI-W: Mandhana, Jemimah guide India Women to record win by 49 runs in 1st T20I

India became the first team to win a Women’s T20I at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai after batting first. On Sunday, December 15, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. defeated Hayley Matthews’ West Indies by 49 runs in the opening game to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I



series.

Earlier, four Women’s T20Is in Navi Mumbai out of five went in favour of the chasing teams. One match between India and Australia back in 2022 was tied. Defending 195, India restricted the visiting team to 146 for seven in 20 overs. For West Indies, Deandra Dottin’s 52-run knock off 28 balls went in vain.
