India were 251 for 5 in the second innings against Sri Lanka at lunch on the fifth and final day of the Kolkata Test today. Skipper Virat Kohli on 41 and Ravichandran Ashwin, who is yet to open his account, were at the crease, with the hosts having a lead of 129 runs.
India had resumed the day at the overnight score of 171 for 1, with Lokesh Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease. However,
paceman Suranga Lakmal bagged 3 wickets and spinner Dilruwan Perera took one as India slid from 171 for 1 to 249 for 5 in the first session itself.
After opting to bat, India had made 172 in the first innings, replying to which Sri Lanka posted 294.This is the first Test of the 3-match series.
India were 286 for seven when the last reports came in.
