Dubai: In Asia Cup T20 cricket, India defeated Hong Kong by 40 runs in their second game of Group A last night at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, to qualify for the Super 4 stage.
Put into bat first, India posted a big total of 192 runs for two in stipulated 20 overs riding on Virat Kohli's 59 not out off 44 and Suryakumar Yadav 68 unbeaten off 26 balls. For Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and Mohammad Ghazanfar picked a wicket each.
In reply, Hong Kong could only manage to score 152 for the loss of five
wickets in 20 overs with the help of Babar Hayat's 41 runs.
For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Avesh Khan scapled a wicket each.
Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match for his quick knock.
Earlier, Hong Kong's skipper Nizakat Khan won the toss and elected to field first.
In their opening match, India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in Group A.
