In the ICC Under-19 World Cup, India registered a big-174 run win over Ireland in their Group B match in Tarouba, Trinidad, to qualify for Super League phase.
Put in to bat first, India posted 307 for five in 50 overs with openers Angkrish Raghuvanshi smashing 79 and Harnoor Singh 88 runs. For Ireland, Muzamil Sherzad took three wickets.
Chasing the victory target of 308 runs, Ireland were bundled out at just 133 runs in 39 overs by Indian bowlers as Garv Sangwan, Aneeshwar Gautam and
Kaushal Tambe picked two wickets apiece.
Harnoor Singh was declared player of the match.
India were without captain Yash Dhull, who reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 along with five other teammates. Nishant Sindhu has been assigned the stand-in captain role.
With this win, India have now registered victories in its opening two matches and now they will lock horns against Uganda in their final group stage game on Saturday.
