India defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets to register their second win in the tri-nation Twenty-20 series at Colombo last night.
Put in to bat, Sri Lanka had posted 152 for 9 after the match was reduced to 19 overs due to rain. Opener Kusal Mendis top scored with 55. Medium pacer Shardul Thakur bagged the maximum of 4 wickets.
In reply, India overhauled the target with 9 balls to spare, courtesy a 68-run
stand between Manish Pandey and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. Pandey scored an unbeaten 42, while Karthik made 39 not out. Shardul was adjudged man of the match.
The win, which was India's second in three games, has taken Rohit Sharma and Co. to the top of the table with 4 points. They will play with Bangladesh tomorrow and a victory in that game will secure them a place in Final which will be played on Sunday.
