In Men’s Cricket, India stormed to a resounding 86-run victory over Bangladesh in the Second T20 International, sealing the three-match series 2-0 with a game to spare at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi yesterday.
This victory marks the biggest margin of win by runs for India against Bangladesh in T20I history, surpassing their previous record of a 50-run win during the recent T20 World Cup. Chasing a target of 222 runs, Bangladesh made 135 for 9 wickets in the stipulated twenty overs. For visitors, Mahmudullah with 41 was the top scorer. For India, Nitish Reddy and Varun Chakaravarthy scalped two wickets each,
while Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Yadav, and Riyan Parag took a wicket each.
Nitish Reddy was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round performance. Earlier, after being put into bat, India made 221 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated twenty overs. Nitish Reddy with seventy-four runs was the top scorer, while Rinku Singh made fifty-three runs. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain scalped three wickets. Moreover, the third and final T20 international match between India and Bangladesh will be played in Hyderabad on Saturday.
