India have clinched the One-Day International series 2-1 against Sri Lanka. The hosts defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the third and final cricket ODI at Visakhapatnam yesterday. India also recorded their eighth successive win in a bilateral contest. Victory target of 216 runs was overhauled by making 219 for 2 in 32.1 overs.

Dhawan struck an unbeaten 100 which was his 12th ODI century. Shreyas Iyer contributed a fine 65 off 63 balls while Dinesh Karthik remained not out on 26. Earlier, put in to bat, Sri Lanka collapsed for 215 from a promising 160 for 2.
India and Sri Lanka will play their first T20 at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday.
