The Indian cricket team, fondly known as the Men in Blue, had unveiled a new jersey ahead of their One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies in 2023. The jersey, sponsored by Dream XI, a popular fantasy gaming platform, marks a new era in Indian cricket. Dream XI acquired the Team India jersey lead sponsorship rights from 2023-27, replacing ed-tech firm Byju's, which was the sponsor from 2019 till March 2023.

The new ODI jersey was designed by Delhi-based designer Aaquib Wani, the Founder & Creative Director at Aaquib Wani Design. His focus on simplicity and comfort has been well received by Indian fans, with the Test jersey selling out on kit sponsor Adidas's website in just two days. The jersey was first worn by the Indian cricket team on June 1, 2023, marking a significant milestone in Indian cricket history.

The design of the jersey retains the iconic blue color, symbolic of the Indian cricket

team. It also features three stars on the chest, representing the three ICC World Cups India has won in 1983, 2007, and 2011. The same jerseys will also be donned by the women's cricket team, further emphasizing the unity and equality in Indian cricket.

The new jersey was unveiled ahead of the ODI leg, and fans have been eager to get their hands on it since its reveal. The men's team will also wear this new kit during the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held entirely in India for the first time. This jersey thus represents not just a change in design, but also a symbol of India's growing prominence in the world of cricket.

Despite some mixed reactions from fans on social media, the new jersey signifies a fresh start for Team India. As they step onto the field against the West Indies in their new attire, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of millions of fans, all stitched into the fabric of their new jersey.
