Christchurch: India find themselves in deep trouble as they were bundled out for 219 in 47.3 overs after being invited to bat first. New Zealand in response have got off to a good start with Devon Conway and Finn Allen keeping things moving. Earlier, Washington Sundar scored 51 to guide India to a respectable total, after the Men In Blue were reduced to 121/5.
Apart from Sundar, Shreyas Iyer showed some resistance as he missed out on his
half-century by a run. Barring the two no other Indian batters could get going. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill started slow, and added 39 runs for the opening wicket before Gill fell for 13 against Adam Milne.
The pacer picked two more wickets, which included the scalps of Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav. Rishabh Pant once again failed to impress and was dismissed for 10 by Daryl Mitchell.
