Rajkot: The 3rd Test of a five-match series between India and England will begin at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot today. The match will start at 9.30 AM Indian time.
BCCI confirmed that wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test due to an incomplete recovery from a quadriceps strain. The absence of Rahul is another blow to India, whose batting lineup is also missing Virat Kohli because of personal reasons.
Earlier yesterday, England captain Ben Stokes expressed
gratitude to the Indian government and BCCI after leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed's visa issue was settled. The Pakistani descent had reached Rajkot with a single entry visa which caused difficulties when the team arrived. However, the immigration authorities resolved the issue a day before the start of the third Test.
In the first test, England defeated India by a narrow margin of 28 runs, while India struck back with a 106 runs victory in the second match to level the series 1-1.
