Dubai: India will take on Afghanistan in their Super Four match of Asia Cup T20 cricket in Dubai today. The match will start at 7:30 PM Indian Time. Last night, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by one wicket in their final Super Four match at Sharjah, to qualify for the final.
Put into bat first, Afghanistan posted 129 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 20 overs with Ibrahim Zadran top-scoring with 35 runs. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf picked up two wickets.
Pakistan chased down the target losing nine wickets with four balls to spare as
Naseem Shah hit two consecutive sixes in the final over. Shadab Khan top-scored for Pakistan with 36 while Iftikhar Ahmed made 30. For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Fareed Ahmad took three wickets each while Rashid Khan bagged two dismissals.
This result means that India and Afghanistan have been eliminated from the Asia Cup final race as they are winless from two matches of the Super four stage. With four points each, Pakistan and Sri Lanka qualified for the title clash. Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in the final on Sunday.
