Indian men will take on South Africa in the first test of the three-match series at Visakhapatnam today. The match is scheduled to begin at 9.30 a.m.
Meanwhile, India Cricket team Skipper Virat Kohli today backed Rohit Sharma and said that his promotion to the opening slot in Tests could make India's batting line-up more lethal.
Addressing a press conference on the eve of the first Test, Kohli said that Rohit will be
given enough space to settle at the opening slot in tests to improvise and deliver a good game.
Kohli also announced that Wriddhiman Saha, the 34-year-old wicketkeeper, has been picked over young Rishabh Pant for India's first Test. Wriddhiman Saha last played for India in January last year as a shoulder injury pushed him out of the picture with young wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant fitting well in the longest format.
