India cricket team led by Rohit Sharma will play their opening match against Sri Lanka in the Tri-Nation Nidahas Twenty20 Cup, in Colombo today. The match will start at 7 PM IST.
The Nidahas tournament is being played to celebrate Sri Lanka's 70th year of independence.
Key players including captain Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have been rested for the tri-series involving India, Sri Lanka and
Bangladesh.
All the three teams will face each other twice and the top teams will make the final which will be played at the same venue on 18th of this month.
The other members of the Indian squad include Shikhar Dhawan (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Suresh Raina, Mohammad Siraj and Rishabh Pant.
With just about 16 months left for the ICC World Cup, the youngsters who get a chance in this tournament would look to make most of their performances.
