Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand in the first One-Day International of their three-match series, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. The contest on Sunday is a milestone for Kohli, who is playing his 200th ODI.
India have made two changes to their side, bringing in Dinesh Karthik in place of the struggling Manish Pandey at No 4 to strengthen their middle order. Also, Ajinkya Rahane, who scored four half-centuries on the trot against Australia, had to make way for Shikhar Dhawan.
New Zealand will play a three-match ODI as
well as a three-match T20I series on this tour of India. The second ODI will be played on October 25 at Pune, whereas the final ODI of the series will be at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on October 29.
