Smriti Mandhana, on Friday, January 5, became the fourth Indian batter to score 3000 runs in T20Is. The left-handed batter achieved the feat in India’s opening T20I against Alyssa Healy’s Australia at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
The other Indians to have achieved the feat are Virat Kohli, men’s skipper Rohit Sharma and women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. The others to have reached the
3000-run mark are Suzie Bates, Meg Lanning, Stefanie Taylor, Sophie Devine, Martin Guptill, Babar Azam, Paul Stirling and Aaron Finch.
Mandhana is also on the verge of becoming the fastest Indian woman to 3000 runs in T20Is. Harmanpreet currently holds the record, having got there in her 135th innings back in February 2023 in the Women’s T20 World Cup match against Ireland Women at St George's Park in Gqeberha.
