It was touted as the clash between the top-two teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 but the match turned out to be a one-sided affair as Mumbai Indians registered a clinical victory over Delhi Capitals in Match 27 at the Zayed Stadium on Sunday.

MI made a mockery of the 163-run target, chasing it down with 5 wickets and 2 balls to spare to go topple DC from the top of the points table with their 4th win in succession.

Suryakumar Yadav once again top-scored for MI with 53 off 32 balls while Quinton de Kock made the same score in 36 balls to help the team win their first game while chasing this season. It is also the highest successful run chase at this venue this season.

Ishan Kishan (28), Kieron Pollard (11 not out) and Krunal Pandya (12 not out) played small cameos which contributed to MI's win.

DC tried their best to stop the MI

batters with Kagiso Rabada once again leading their attack with 2 wickets while Axar Patel, R Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis bagged a wicket each but their efforts still couldn't restrict DC.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals were restricted to 162 for 4 in 20 overs thanks to some superb bowling from Krunal Pandya and Trent Boult on a slow pitch in Abu Dhabi.

Shikhar Dhawan batted from start to finish, remaining unbeaten on 69 off 52 balls while Shreyas Iyer contributed with 42 runs but the rest of the batting lineup failed to impress in this crunch game.

Krunal was the pick of the MI bowlers with 2 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs while Boult took 1 but despite the lack of wickets, MI still managed to keep the strong DC batting lineup to a gettable score.

MI now top the table with 10 points and a better net-run rate than DC, who also have 5 wins from 7 matches.
