Sharjah: Chennai Super Kings became the first team in the ongoing IPL, to qualify for the playoffs after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in Sharjah last night. Put into bat first, Hyderabad posted a score of 134 runs for seven in the stipulated 20 overs with help of Wriddhiman Saha's 44 off 46 balls. For Chennai, Josh Hazlewood picked three while Dwayne Bravo scalped two wickets.
In reply, Chennai chased down the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of four wickets
riding on Ruturaj Gaikwad's 45 off 38 and Faf du Plessis's 41 runs off 36 balls. For Hyderabad, Jason Holder took three wickets.
With this win, Chennai Super Kings consolidated their position on top of the table and became the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the ongoing IPL.
Today, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Punjab Kings at Dubai International Stadium at 7.30 PM Indian Time.
