India all-rounder Hardik and Krunal Pandya along with Suryakumar Yadav joined the Mumbai Indians squad ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 after fulfilling national duty on Monday. The trio will have to undergo a mandatory period of seven days of quarantine before they can begin their preparation for the cash-rich T20 league.
All three MI stars were part of the Indian team which completed a dramatic series win over England on Sunday night in Pune. Both Pandya brothers starred for India in the 3-match ODI series with the elder making his debut and notching up a record half-century in his maiden appearance. However, Suryakumar did not get a game in ODI series after
earlier making an impressive T20I debut against England.
'Firstly really happy and very proud to represent India. It was always my dream to play for the country. It feels great and I was really happy to be part of such an amazing unit,' Suryakumar said in the video.
'And now, that role is over and I am back to my Mumbai Indians family. Looking ahead to unbelievable times ahead,' he added.
As per the standard operating procedure (SOP) sent out by the BCCI, it is compulsory for all players, management, and support staff entering the bubble to undergo a week-long quarantine in their hotel rooms. During this period, each person will be tested multiple times.
