MS Dhoni turned back the clock yet again in IPL 2022, taking fans down memory lane with a stunning cameo for Chennai Super Kings in Match 55 of IPL 2022 against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. Dhoni smashed 21 runs and remained unbeaten from just 8 balls, sending the crowd at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai into a tizzy.
Dhoni hit 2 mighty sixes and a boundary as he struck at 262.50 to help Chennai Super Kings post 208 after Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field in the second match of Sunday's double header.
Dhoni walked into bat in the 18th over when Chennai had lost a bit of steam after
losing well-set Devon Conway (87) and Shivam Dube (32) in quick succession. However, Dhoni made his intentions clear as early as the 2nd delivery he faced by skipping down the track and smashing Delhi Capitals medium pacer Mitchell Marsh straight into the long-on boundary.
He then hit Khaleel Ahmed straight over the bowler's head in the penultimate over, flat-batting a wide delivery from the left-arm pacer into the stands.
Dhoni was not able to get a boundary in the final over against Anrich Nortje but the CSK captain ran hard between wickets to collect two doubles and help CSK finish on a high.
