Kolkata Knight Riders kept their outside chances of reaching the playoffs alive after hammering SunRisers Hyderabad by 54 runs in Match 61 of the season at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday, March 14.

Led by Andre Russell's quickfire 49 not out and his bowling figures of 3/22, KKR came up with a comprehensive performance against SRH, who slipped to their 5th straight loss.

KKR jumped to the 6th spot, getting a huge boost to the Net Run Rate while SRH slipped to the 8th spot as they seem to

have forgotten how to win, once again.

It's been a topsy-turvy ride for SRH who began their season with 2 defeats but bounced back with 5 succesive wins. However, Kane Williamson's men are in danger of not making the playoffs after losing 5 on the bounce.

Earlier in the day, young opener Venkatesh Iyer suffered another failure as the left-handed batter fell for 7 as early as the 2nd over to Marco Jansen, who returned to the playing XI for the Sunrisers along with T Natarajan and Washington Sundar.
