Kolkata: In IPL Cricket, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 14 runs in the playoffs eliminator at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, last night. Bangalore will now take on Rajasthan Royals for a place in the final.
Put into bat first, Bangalore posted a huge total of 207 runs for the loss of four wickets in stipulated 20 overs riding on Rajat Patidar's unbeaten 112 off 54 and Dinesh Karthik's not out 37 off 23 balls. Patidar Smashed his maiden century in 49 balls, registering the fastest ton of the ongoing IPL
season.
Chasing the target, Lucknow could only score 193 for six in 20 overs with the help of skipper KL Rahul's 79 off 58 and Deepak Hooda's 45 off 26. For Bangalore, Josh Hazlewood scalped three wickets.
Earlier, Lucknow won the toss and elected to field in a match that was delayed due to rain.
With this Bangalore booked a place in the Qualifier 2, where they will face Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad tomorrow.
